Nakajima Ki-84 Hayate / Frank

Both the Japanese Navy (IJN) and the Japanese Army (IJA) tried to produce better quality fighter aircraft. The result was the IJN's Kawanishi N1K2-J George and the IJA's Nakajima Ki-84 Frank. Both aircraft types were technically equal to the Allied aircraft, but they suffered from insufficient numbers, technical problems due to poor manufacturing conditions and the lack of well-trained crews in the last years of the war.
